Self portrait, still life paintings and some landscape studies.
May 13, 2010

Been a while since uploading. So, thank you for your patience. Just uploaded a self portrait that ... I am happy with. You could write books on self portraits, but letīs just stay with this: I like self portraits that are like diaries. This is me winter, 2010.
Oh, I am in a wonderful phase of just painting stuff. Painting the same way I used to build with LEGO as a kid. Painting because I am painting. Just for the joy of painting.

Through Cataclysm in Florence
May 13, 2010

Fifth Alumni Exhibition (FAA) is taking place May 13 - 16. Read more here. This means that if you happen to be in Florence and already have been to the Annigoni museum, already had your icecream at piazzale Michelangelo - then you could go and see "Through Cataclysm" in the flesh.

Finally got around to upload my latest painting - 'Through Cataclysm'. More about this one and my winged figures in the blog soon.

New blog
Sep 01, 2009

I didn't think I would ever have a blog. As it turned out, after following the sometimes heated debate on figurative art in Sweden this summer, I decided to have a place where I could gather texts. So no ordinary blog with diary updates, but hopefully a place that slowly will grow with my thoughts on art in general and figurative, classical art in particular.
(In Swedish) andreasb.wordpress.com [edit: changed host for the blog]

Upload around the corner
Aug 03, 2009

Going away on a trip to Norrland - the northern part of Sweden. Meeting family and attending my brothers wedding. And with the intention to come back with a bunch of panels with paint on. Really writing this to make you come back in a couple of weeks. By then I will have sorted out my recently crashed computer and be ready to upload a number of new paintings. Including the two-meter tall giant that almost defeated me. See you soon.

Current project
Jun 09, 2009

It would be a lie to say that there has been a stream of recent images added to the gallery. Just writing a quick note to say I'm still here - just been really consumed with the largest canvas I've painted on so far. The painting has to be ready by mid-July. will hopefully find some time to upload some in-between, small projects.

Lost in Hindsight and two landscapes
Feb 26, 2009

Uploaded 'Lost in Hindsight' and two landscapes from Säveån.
Had a great week in Florence. I think that city is designed for a week long stay. Discovered Andrea del Sarto and Pietro Annigoni during the visit. Not that they're not well known or anything, it's just me. I have totally missed these two fine painters. Spent the better part of a morning before Andrea del Sartos altar piece at the Uffizi and was in some kind of a chock after the visit to the newly opened Annigoni museum.

Preparing for the Fourth Alumni Show
Feb 05, 2009

Latest painting, Lost in Hindsight, shipped to Florence a couple of days ago. I am really looking forward to this. Will arrive on tuesday which will give me enough time for meetings, teaching, as well as just walking around Florence again. Something I really miss - walking around that city. Others talk about the Uffizi and San Marco, but I miss walking around the most. An icecream with Lisa at Fiesole is not bad either...
Toby is talking about a showdown on the mini-moto course - we'll see how that goes.
When the website for the show is up I'll post it here. (And publish images of the paintings I have in the show).

OK, boring first post. Finally got around to fix the administration tool for this section. This will hopefully mark the beginning of me updating more...
